Ride SFO, Yo!

Story of my life. I agree to do something and then I instantly regret it. Like drinking another beer when clearly I shouldn’t. Or like taking a shot when I already know that it’s more than likely going to make me vomit profusely. Or like wearing something I know does not compliment me well yet I Refuse to listen to my own personal Jiminy Cricket chirping in my head, (yes I have one except he dresses like a 1970′s pimp – hence the reason why I never listen to him).

Somethings that I never regret are supporting folks who support us. Doing events that expand our brand and get our name out there as much as possible. This weekend we were fortunate enough to have participated in what is sure to be an awesome event in the upcoming months. RideSFO hosted a PopUp Show in the SandStorm Warehouse. The drinks, food, & music provided were all awesome. The DJ didn’t play one song we didn’t like. The beer was plenty & the vibes were beautiful.

The SandStorm warehouse is a city block long. Complete with kitchen & bathrooms it is an awesome place to chill or host an event.

Attack Of The SnapBack…

Talent comes in many shapes, sizes, forms, mediums, larges, & smalls. My talents are very limited indeed but one I take most pride in is my ability to balance almost anything on my head including a basketball. I have done it on more than one occasion and I have to be in the mood to do it. You can’t just walk up to me and be like, ‘A balance this basketball on your head..’ and I’m not gonna be like, ‘Oh sure, weirdo where’s the basketball…’ It is a state of mind you have to reach before you can attempt such a thing. A certain zen-like state that takes minutes upon minutes to achieve.

Other people however, like to put other things on their heads. Hats for example. We had a limited edition R snap back hat that wasn’t released to the public for reasons unworthy of mentioning. But hey, I figured why not let some go venture into the world and smell the tops of mops…

We spent all morning & afternoon in the beautiful alley of Clarion in the wonderful city of San Francisco. Hung out with some bums, interrupted some tours, scared away some kids & hounded a paletero for his cart. Turns out this paletero was my cousin’s nino’s uncle which pretty much made him family. (If you believe that than you are a racist)

Fresh, dressed, like a million bucks.

I absolutely hate running late. Although you probably can’t tell because 8 times out of 10 I am running late. I plan to get places early. Everywhere. My intentions are always there. Genuine too. But as reality would have it so many things hurdle themselves in my way.

Wednesday however, I thought we were running late. Until we showed up at Temple & the lights were still on. They weren’t even serving alcohol yet that’s how early we got there. House got packed quick. Music was on point & we were glad we went.

We struggle everyday with everyday things. One thing we never struggle with though is keeping it real. How cliché.

And we wouldn’t be keeping it real if we didn’t let the public know that our shit is now shipping across the country FREE OF CHARGE. Along with that pertinent information I thought I would share with you some frequently asked questions we get from time to time.

10 FAQ’S:

1. Do you have a PayPal? YES, but the real question here is; Do YOU remember your login information?

2. Do you take credit cards? We usetah couldn’t, but now we could. Thank you Square Reader

3. I love your shirts but I don’t want to buy online! (not really a question, more like an open ended statement to which I will give an open ended response) We deliver. We happily deliver. We have a shitload of cars – some more uglier than others – but ready to go nonetheless should an opportunity arise. Might I also add that we respect people who Refuse to give in to online shopping.

4. Who does all your designs? We do. We are fortunate enough to have a crew that knows how to draw, use photoshop, adobe, illustrator, a pencil, pen, sharpie, streak, spray can, acrylic, paste, glue, condoms, etc…

5. Are you guys in any stores? 6. What kind of shirts do you guys use? We only use American Apparel & Alstyle for many reasons. We have used other brands in the past but in our experience these two brands reign supreme. Top 5 reasons are: Made in California & Mexico. Models are plain Jane sexy. The shirts feel good & look good on, not to mention their lifespan in a washer & dryer is a bit longer than other brands. Sometimes the tags are easy to rip off. Easy to get & many styles to chose from.

7. How long have you guys been around? We been around for a minute. How long we been Latin Active? A year and some change. There was a lot of time unaccounted for. I will attribute that to an addiction to good movies, big butts, & beverages containing high alcohol volume.

8. Do you guys print your own shirts? Shit, we wish we could take credit & some cases are glad we have others to blame. HA! However, there are no words to express the relief slash anxiety I feel in knowing we finally have our own machine. We are not haters so here are some folks we have used in the past – Tea Shack, King Of Campus, Century Graphics & BG Concepts.

9. Man I really liked that _____ shirt! Are you guys gonna reprint it? In a beautiful world, filled with beautiful girls with beautiful curls, we would reprint all our best sellers and always have a shit load of stock in them. As reality would have it however, money isn’t easily counterfeited and we haven’t found a good printer for that yet so for the time being what we have is what we have…joking. Next time you have a favorite, don’t be scared to buy it.

10. Are you guys Puerto Rican? Fortunately, only 1/3 of us is. The other two sub-humans are Mexican. From a city rich with culture, life, love & history; Mexico City.
