All Art Is A Kind Of Confession…

It helps you express things without really using words. Whether it’s ‘I Love You’, ‘I Hate You’, ‘Clean This Shit Up’, ‘Let’s Tear This Shit Up’, ‘Shut The Fuck Up’, ‘My Mind Is Too Crazy or Maybe Too Lazy’… Whatever you want to say you can. It can be messy, sloppy, no rhyme or reason, just call it art and there you have it…

But then there are those special instances when you see something so beautiful it makes you want to shed a single tear, burst with laughter, fill up with envy, pride, inspiration, motivation, all the ‘ations. I have found a few of those that I thought I would share with you; my fellow homeboys.

This is the kinda shit right here that makes me wish I woulda thunk it.

Have a great weekend.

Crazy Legs – Lunch Breaks Show.

So here at headquarters we sometimes delve into discussions about who has done/contributed more to Hip Hop; Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Asians, Blacks, Whites, etc. Mainly between Mexicans & Puerto Ricans. It’s almost like a Niners vs. Raiders type vibe & if you have even a scooch of Puerto Rican in you I claim you entirely to Puerto Rico & vice versa. Convo’s usually go a little like this:

Person A: Dude he is Puerto Rican…

Person B: No he’s not fool, he’s black…

Person A: What are you talking about? His mom is Puerto Rican…

Person B: Chill out, you think everyone is Puerto Rican.

Person A: Mutherfucker I googled it! Wanna bet?

Person B: Whatever, he’s still black.

These types of discussions are usually just for fun & for laughs & for putting each other down in a playful manner.

However, one artist that can not be denied in any way of where he is from is Crazy Legs, an original member from the legendary Rock Steady Crew. I like to say he invented break dancing but of course that ain’t true. What is true is that he is Boricua & he is proud. Here he is rocking our PR shirt during his Lunch Breaks show. You can catch him nowadays supporting communities, holding events, revealing truths about Naomi Rivera, & scratchin, cookin, groovin, & politickin among many other things.

I’m A Pisces But I’d Rather Be A Killer Whale…

First of all I am not a Pisces, and if I had to choose what animal I would rather be a killer whale would be in the top 10. Would it be my number one? Probably not. Those guys are close to extinction.

We are headed to LA at the end of this month for a show called FYF Festival. Maybe you have heard of it. Maybe you haven’t. While we are there we are also going to be doing a show called “Full Circle” in Gardena where we hear the grass is green and the girls are pretty… If you are in the area or are headed to the festival too, you should stop by & check us out!

We will have all our new line & old line there as well as some fresh new stickers. Stop by and cop some… or I’ll hit you with my bop gun.

The Art Of Flattery…

Being a true fat ass at heart, I love ice cream. When I am hungover or when I first wake up in the morning you can catch me sneaking spoonfuls of it while hiding in the kitchen. I have also been known to dodge little kids who repeatedly ask me for bites or licks of whatever heavenly treat I might be delighting in. Don’t judge, I am working on my vices.

I love bright colors. When I was a young warthog, I use to rock all types of colors together. No color was too outlandish or obnoxious. In fact, the more colors the better. I use to collect skittle packages like a retard just to remind myself that tasting the rainbow was not only my natural born-right, but an imperative tool in getting dressed for the day. I would randomly select skittles from a package and whatever colors came out were the colors I would wear that day. (and if you believed that than you probably also believe that Trix really are just for kids…)

So when we decided to combine the two for our summer line, I was overjoyed by the concept of marrying two of my most favorite things. Bright colors & ice cream was something we were truly excited to release to the public. We still are excited. It was our first cohesive release.

Some might think that its pretty easy to get a standard B&J logo and fill it in with our own phrases. But here at R&R we like to do shit the hard way. The old fashioned way. The way that not many brands around do it. By hand, with paper & a pencil. Like this fancy little number below. All by a hand that loves the ice creamery almost as much as I do.

We know we aren’t the first to join these two together and nor will we be the last. However, since the spring of our new summer line in June, we have seen some pretty cool ‘adaptations’ of the Ben & Jerry’s logo around our newsfeed, twitter links, and instagrams.

We love to inspire.

Our summer line is available now for purchasing online. Still a few bucks cheaper than your average shirt & we offer free shipping. The free shipping part is forever. We will also deliver if you are in the neighborhood.

Ride SFO, Yo!

Story of my life. I agree to do something and then I instantly regret it. Like drinking another beer when clearly I shouldn’t. Or like taking a shot when I already know that it’s more than likely going to make me vomit profusely. Or like wearing something I know does not compliment me well yet I Refuse to listen to my own personal Jiminy Cricket chirping in my head, (yes I have one except he dresses like a 1970′s pimp – hence the reason why I never listen to him).

Somethings that I never regret are supporting folks who support us. Doing events that expand our brand and get our name out there as much as possible. This weekend we were fortunate enough to have participated in what is sure to be an awesome event in the upcoming months. RideSFO hosted a PopUp Show in the SandStorm Warehouse. The drinks, food, & music provided were all awesome. The DJ didn’t play one song we didn’t like. The beer was plenty & the vibes were beautiful.

The SandStorm warehouse is a city block long. Complete with kitchen & bathrooms it is an awesome place to chill or host an event.

Peep some flicks from our instagram below.

The set up! Very convenient.

Only seen this shit on movies. First time on an SF rooftop. #poppincherries
