Anya & The Get Down.

A while back we met a really cool dude at Azucar’s. A short fellow with a cool disposition.Turns out he’s the lead guitarist for a pretty dope band. And by dope I mean supremely superior.

We finally had a chance to check them out for real at The Pagoda the other weekend for one of many shows I am sure they will be hosting all around the bay pretty soon. Every member was cooler than a polar bear’s toe nails and held an abundance of skill with their instrument. To say the lead singer’s voice is magical would be gay, so I won’t say that. But I will say that she is mesmerizing. Once she opens her mouth and starts belting you have no choice but to watch with your eyes & listen with your heart. Since I couldn’t get a good view from the front I took a side position and peeped the band. I will say that what was going on back there was like watching a fireworks show up close. If you didn’t move with the music then you can pretty much consider yourself dead.

The fact that most of them were rocking our gear puts them on a grander level in my book.

We got there a little late and missed Raquel Rodriguez’s performance so we bought both CD’s for sale and bumped them on our way outta town last weekend.

They are definitely a group you do not want to miss & if you’re from San Jose and you haven’t heard of them yet, your welcome.

For photos & a little more coverage peep the tumblr. While you are there feel free to follow but only if you like awesomeness, otherwise follow the other guys.

The Magician

Our photographer is a classy fellow. He likes his beer cold, his liquor stiff, his bath water warm, and his music loud.

He works tirelessly & diligently always paying close attention to detail. Nothing leaves the base without triple inspection.

Here are some old school flicks from a film camera that is now collecting dust somewhere.

You can see more of his work that has nothing to do with Refuse Routine at www.facebook.com/rr.collective.page

By the way, if you look at the top of this page -right now- you can now find links that direct you straight to our store, tumblr, pinterest, facebook page, & a little page with some about us info.

Check it out!

Friday night at the Pagoda was an awesome show. I personally love intimate settings where interaction with the performer is not completely unheard of.

Dope Show.

Good Crowd.

I could go on and on but then you probably won’t click the link above and head to our tumblr account to peep out the coverage there.

And we don’t want that now, do we?
